She had fallen at her Residence and was taken there. Was a great experience for her and our family. The floors, bedding and bathroom were always kept clean and well stocked. She said she enjoyed her meals and was given plenty to eat. Steve and Vern treated her as if she was their family. She also received physical therapy while there.
Everything there seemed very pleasant. However, once I've heard the details of respite care and if I qualify, I didn't get into any real details about the whole facility. The place was very clean and everything seemed nice. The one staff that I met was very friendly. I didn't see any activities though. I thought Forwood Manor was wonderful.

My dad is doing very well at Forwood Manor. Everything has been very good and we haven't had any complaints whatsoever. They treat him very well, and they're very attentive. He has been gaining weight while he's there.
They treated me with kindness and respect; like I was family. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in the kitchen service. The place was terrible and so were the staff members.. They didn't get him out of bed that much. He got physical therapy, but they stopped having it for him.

I liked Forwood Manor a lot, and I'm very positive about it. The rooms were a good size, pretty new, and looked nice. A large number of emergency services, including heavily-armed police officers, responded to the location when the call came in. Patients were briefly evacuated while officers worked to secure the scene.

My mom was 85 and my mom would be much comfortable with the washer and dryer inside the apartment. However, they offered a lot of stuff too. They offered a lot of activities and there was a pharmacy in there. I thought there was a doctor and that came in so many times a week. I just wasn't where my mom wanted to go, but I would recommend them to others. My visit to Forwood Manor was good, but it did not have cottages, only apartments.
Care
There was no staff to greet me though. There was somebody behind the counter, and I asked where my friend was, but there was nobody other than that. There was no person wandering around looking for newcomers or anything of that sort.
There were people in the hall in wheelchairs. My friend had a trainer that was coming, she was going for exercises, and her doctor came to see her frequently. Another new facility which is just up the road will have independent living, assisted living, and memory care but no nursing.

The therapy team was excellent and getting therapy 6 days a week was very helpful in my recovery. Rose was wonderful - she went above and beyond her PT requirements. When I was ready to give up, she stayed with me and talked to me until I calmed down. She is so kind and caring (& very good at PT, too)!! The Manor Care staff was wonderful.
